Put The People Of Your Hospital In The Best Hands

Put The Staffing Of Your Hospital In The Best Hands

As a modern hospital, you have diverse wants and extensive needs when it comes to staffing. When considering a recruiting partner, what do you look for? Do you search for a team that has experience? A recruiter that has worked in the trenches? Someone who knows how challenging it can be to find and hire the top talent you need to lead and run your facilities smoothly? If not, you should.

You should entrust the staffing of your hospital to my team and me. I know the skills you need because I have seen and experienced it first hand. I know what makes a great healthcare professional. It does not matter if they’re an Engineering Supervisor, a Director of Information Technology, or a Chief Nursing Officer; you need more than just technical skills. You want someone that is compassionate, hard-working, and a problem-solver.

My career started while working for a rehabilitation hospital serving individuals in the
Northwest with brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, and miscellaneous orthopedic injuries. I was charged with ensuring that staffing levels were monitored on a multitude of levels. My job was to create new positions while maintaining a budget in coordination with nurse leaders and administration. One aspect was to assist nurse leaders in recruitment and vetting potential new hires. Once hired, I would oversee the onboarding of these new hires to ensure compliance with various regulations.

Throughout my career, I have truly worked hand-in-hand with staff at all levels. I’ve learned to identify what health leaders value most. I know how to have in-depth conversations with qualified talent in all departments. And last, but certainly not least, I know how to sell the location, culture, and future of your organization. At Johnson Search Group, I use these skills to find and source the candidates my clients need for their healthcare organizations.

Why Your Healthcare Facility Needs To Hire Contract Staff

Why Your Healthcare Facility Needs To Hire Contract

In 2019, we saw a huge surge of contract hiring throughout the Healthcare industry, and it is only heating up more in 2020! For many organizations, it has become a key element to building sustainable, successful teams throughout every department. If you still need a bit of convincing on why your healthcare facility needs to hire contract staff, we’ve got you covered!

1. Get people in the door quickly

In the healthcare field, when you need candidates, you need them NOW. In fact, people’s lives depend on it! Every vacancy has a significant impact on your team. It puts pressure on current team members, leaves work on the table, and takes time away from management to hire new staff (which can sometimes take months!). When you need qualified talent quickly, contract staffing is the way to go! You can hire people in less than a week, ensuring that our department hardly misses a beat.

2. Meet seasonal demand

Healthcare organizations experience a lot of seasonal fluctuation. For example, during the 2018-2019 flu season, healthcare providers saw approximately 16.5 million influenza-associated visits in the United States. Of course, your organization will need to be staffed accordingly. Contract staffing is perfect for seasonal demand. You can hire as many team members as you need to get you through the rush and term them once their contract is over.

3. Attract better talent

The flexibility of contract positions is very appealing to many healthcare employees. Temporary contracts may allow you to offer stronger compensation and flexible work hours. These benefits are extremely appealing to today’s candidates and will allow you to attract high caliber talent from around the country.

These three things are only the start of a long list of benefits to hiring contract staff. Eager to learn more about how hiring contractors can transform your team? Contact one of our experienced healthcare recruiters today!

Hiring In Healthcare: It's All About Community & Culture

Hiring In Healthcare: It’s All About Community & Culture

As a recruiter in the healthcare industry, I understand that searching for qualified candidates can be quite the task! There are three main things that my team and I search for in our candidates: qualifications, salary requirements, and culture fit. We assess these criteria for hospitals of all sizes. However, I have a soft spot for rural communities and critical access hospitals simply because I like life in the slow lane. (Well, at least not while driving!)

My passion is rural healthcare

Recruiting in Washington state is easy for me because I was born and raised here. My family ran the Outdoor Press, and I became very interested in small-town living with plenty of outdoor adventures right in my backyard. I am always the first to say, “Life is about the wind in your hair and the sun on your nose.”

I pride myself on placing qualified candidates that fit both the hospital and the community’s needs. When recruiting for my clients in rural Kansas, I paint a picture for each candidate I talk to. It’s my goal to enlighten them on the beautiful outdoors, the strong communities, and all the fun activities each area has to offer.

My candidates match your hospital and community

I won’t submit a candidate to a client that isn’t sold on the lifestyle rural communities and organizations have to offer. Some people are cut out for small-town living, and some are not. Just ask my sister; she is never leaving metro Seattle. (And that’s okay!) Sure, it might be easy to discover qualified talent in a big city. But what about when the job is more than two hours away from any metro locations? It takes a special someone to value the quality of small communities and organizations. My clients want passion and longevity, and those are the exact candidates I strive to find.

My passion for critical access hospitals and rural communities is what makes me a successful recruiter. I will find your organization candidates that will stay and be a vital part of your community. Selling a lifestyle, not just a job, is the key to a successful placement.

Let’s work together

It only takes me a few quick questions and a little intuition to understand what you’re looking for. Reach out to me, and I will help you find the right candidate for your team and community.
